I just yesterday had a student tell me he was not sure he believed in God. While this is not the first time, I was a bit depressed about why he said it. He said that “most students that “claimed” to be Christ followers act no different than those that don’t, so whats the difference if I believe or not”?
He was questioning God based on how “Christian” students act. While I am not convinced that all students that say they are saved are actually saved, those that really are should be aware that how we, as Christians, act and react in life affects more than just those in our immediate circle. The book of 1John talks about how we can KNOW that we are saved by our love for each other and our obedience to God. The fact is that we SHOULD act different if the love of Jesus and the Holy Spirit of God lives in us. If we do not, it would call in the question of whether we are really saved or not… So, I ask you today, Does your life reflect that of God’s Word or the world? And, are you really saved???
Hello world, As I prepare for tonight, Wed October 27 2010, I am contemplating what Halloween this weekend will bring. We are having a costume contest tonight and the message will be on “What costume are you wearing today?” I am so excited to be going to Judgement House this Sat night in Spiro, Ok!! Praying it will be a life changing experience for all that go with us..
As I read in Deut 14:2 “For you are a holy people to Jehovah your God; and Jehovah has chosen you to be a people to Him, a special treasure out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.” This was when God was telling the Israelites how to live and that they were His chosen people and they were to be holy. Holy means to be “seperate”. Today, we as Christians are His chosen people and we are suppose to be Holy (or “separate” from the world). We still live in this world, but we are not suppose to do the same things that the people of the world do. We are to be honest, trustworthy, and most of all, we are to honor God’s word. Therefore, we must be IN the word to know what He says. This will also give us the strength and power to live the way God wants us to…
